Post Body

I just finished my first month with nYNAB. We did pretty good overall, but overspent in a few categories, mostly food.

What is the optimal way to handle overspending in your budget? Should I move money to cover the shortfall immediately, or wait until the end of the month? Or do I roll that into my budget for the following month?

To clarify we have enough money in savings that the rebalancing will just lower the amount going to our savings category for this month. I'm just not sure how to best handle the allocation in YNAB.
