Hi! So Iā€™ve been using YNAB for a couple of months now and am really liking it so far. Iā€™m self employed as a pet sitter, mainly through Rover. However, Iā€™m not sure what to put as the payee when Iā€™m paid via Venmo or Cash? For my usual income I just put ā€œRover,ā€ put I want to be able to keep income from private clients separate. Iā€™ve thought about titling it ā€œPet Sittingā€, but then I wonā€™t know which method I was paid through. Which I guess isnā€™t a huge deal, I just want to make it easier to find everything for tax purposes

the great thing about payees is that you can call them whatever you want. i just call mine ā€œwork incomeā€ so in my reports thatā€™s what it shows up as, regardless of the company iā€™m at.

you can choose to have three payees to track your work income as ā€œwork - venmoā€ and ā€œwork - cashā€ and ā€œwork - roverā€

edit: or simply ā€œroverā€ and ā€œprivate clientā€ ā€” entirely up to you and determined by how you want to see the info in any reports.
