The original Yik yak was out when I was in college, and it was great entertainment. I chatted with many wonderful people I wouldn't have talked to otherwise. Fast forward to the relaunch, it felt just like college. I went on vacation near a big college recently, and I enjoyed making yaks and reading them and chatting with everyone. It made me feel like I was a part of the community.
Now today, it's all over, even though I have an android, I won't be able to use the updated version if it ever comes out, cause I'm not a student anymore. Maybe I was just foolish that at 28 I'm using an app used mostly by college kids, maybe I'm foolish for relying on Yik yak for some of my social interaction, but it's not like I can just go out and meet new people.
So thanks, Yik Yak for taking away a part of my social life.
