When does Yakuza 6 get more interesting?

On chapter 4 just now and found everything after chapter 1 a slog with poor pacing, and little intrigue outside of a few good new characters. Just waiting to feel invested like I was when the game started.
So many meandering errands and trivial tasks that I get bored of playing it within 30 mins.
