How important is weight for wetsuit sizing?
Post Body

Hi! Iโ€™m looking at buying my first suit but finding the sizing charts for most brands a bit troublesome. It seems like most companies say height and weight are the most important factors for sizing, and some offer them as the only measurements. For reference Iโ€™m 5โ€™8โ€ and about 160-165lbs. 30โ€ waist, 37โ€ chest, 39โ€ hip. With weight and height alone, most brands would say Iโ€™m a 12-14, but based on other measurements Iโ€™m more of a 10. Most of my weight is lower body muscle so I worry if I go with a bigger size itโ€™ll be too large from the waist up. Iโ€™m wondering if anyone can attest to how important it is in finding a suit that fits properly? I know the best call would be to try them on nowhere sells them where I live. Iโ€™m looking for a 4/3 for summers in Tofino. Thank you!
