So I haven't seen much movement in the scale after being on keto for about 30 days BUT the other health improvements are amazing.
I wear a charge HR fitbit that tracks my heart rate and I notice the other day on my dashboard that my average resting heart rate has dropped from 104 to 91. Wow.
I haven't been monitoring my blood pressure but I will start after seeing the effect on my heart rate :)
I have a ton more energy and haven't taken a nap since I was a week into the diet. Before keto I would come home from work and collapse into bed for a 1-2 hour nap. The weekends were total nap-fests - nothing ever got done and I never went anywhere because I was always tired and cranky.
Yesterday, I started my period for the first time in months. There is no chance of being pregnant so I knew it was just a hormonal imbalance. And keto has me back on track :-D
I used to spend all day thinking about food. Planning my next meal. Considering my options. Even after I ate I was hardly ever satisfied. Now, I will occasionally have intrusive thoughts and will occasionally fall back in old thought patterns but there isn't a drive, an obsession I am dealing with. If I am hungry, I eat and when I no longer hungry I stop eating. I will regularly leave food on my plate - I never feel the urge to finish something off if I'm not hungry anymore. It's... a revelation.
