It's astounding really.
I know there are people here arguing that Maddie is also in the wrong here but that's mostly because of how poorly Layton writes her in the handful of pages she's been in.
Granted the first issue penned by Weezy is pulling it a bit back for me (Lampshading how very poorly thought-out their entire premise is, they're a Mutant Hunting Group, that has a Mutant Group [that's also just them] always hot on their tail while they attempt to secure the mutant menace). Honestly Scott isn't beating the deadbeat allegations, I have no fucking clue about you but Scott really couldn't just explain things over to Maddie or bring them over to New York?
X-Factor is a series I've never really had the chance to look into but getting into the Mutant Massacre Era of Claremont's run has made me check this out and by god it's like a switch turned on in my head and made me realize the O5 is fucking terrible, and this is coming from a big Cyke-fan.
I trust Weezy will somehow manage to pull this back together, she's always been a solid writer but by god man, a nostalgia title reuniting the old X-Men should have required more thought than this.
I thought legendary Editor Jim Shooter was supposed to make it so horseshit like this doesn't get pass the printers? /s
