Mod Noob. Every mod I try seems to fail to load

I follow a YouTuber, ChrisOdd, and he has a steam Workshop link in the description of his videos. I subscribed to all but I have tried only activating a few. Yet a random mod always crashes.

And when a mod crashes, I have to "Verify integrity of game files" and then it has require 1 file. Otherwise the game won't load even without mods.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and I'm not sure how to figure out what might be wrong.

I'm sure this isn't enough information, but any help in the right direction would be super appreciated.
