My cheap ass Turtle Beaches have had a litany of issues (they are the 40 dollar ones), starting with me constantly needing to have the mic plugged in an exact way, in an exact position. Tonight, the mic seemingly stopped working entirely, despite my little icon in the party chat acting like I was talking (people in the party said I was still intermittent).

I was wondering if there was a way that y'all know of that I could keep the beaches on, or even just some random earbuds, have my TV turned down, and then chat with my party mates through the Kinect? I have turned on "use Kinect for voice chat," but whenever I plug in the headset, or ear buds, the icon at the top of the party window turns into the headset, and acts as if I want to chat with that, even if I turn off the headset mic option.
