Alekhine's Gun Controller problem

I've bought Alekhine's Gun off the Xbox store and after it downloads I can't use my elite controller in game. It still allows me to open the Xbox home but nothing else works on the title screen. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times and always have the same problem. Anyone else having this issue or got any ideas?
