I have a day one edition console. I suppose since the warranty is up, it's very possible my xbox is just somehow dying slowly. Considering I made it through the entire 360 generation with the first version I bought I'd like to believe I'm not going to be one of the first to learn of a new bricking method on the One.
My xbox, on three different occasions, has started up and gone to the home screen but doesn't connect to the Internet. Not only that, but during this time, controllers will either refuse to recognize the Xbox and just continue flashing or connect and be completely unresponsive similar in fashion to what happens with the Netflix app from time to time. Restarting the console does not work. Unplugging it from the wall doesn't even necessarily work. The only thing that really seems to work is time. I'll leave it off for a day or two and then presto, like nothing ever happened. Until it does again.
Maybe this is related but instant on hasn't been so instant for me in a long while. Sure, it'll turn on. Then it just shows my icon and my name with that damn two toned quarter of a circle spinning around it for up to two minutes before it loads my profile.
I've reported it to Xbox support and was basically told I'm SOL because I'm out of a warranty.
Not gonna lie, the whole thing is bummin me out. I had been thinking about upgrading to an elite console but had hoped to trade this one in toward that cost but I'm thinking that'll be unlikely at this point.
Anyone else experiencing this issue? Figure out any fixes?
