I just had this idea, not sure if anyone else has posted it or not, I'm normally pretty up to date with what's going on over here. So here's my idea for how to provide Instant Game Switching for people who buy CD based games.
Say you're watching TV and just minding your own business. You have been playing Ryse so that game disc is in the tray. Suddenly a wild invitation to play COD: Ghosts appears! You haven't played this game in a few days, so it's sitting on your shelf. Your buddy is inviting you to join him in a game though.
Normally we'd be thinking, well, sucks to be this guy. He's going to miss out on this match with his buddy because the disc isn't in the tray.
ALAS! It doesn't have to be that way!
Suppose your Xbox One loads the game anyway even though the disc isn't in the tray, the game is still on the hard drive. There's no reason your Xbox One can't start loading the game and give you something like a 5 minute grace period in order to get off your butt and grab the disc to throw it in the tray while the game initializes from the hard drive. If you don't get the disc into the tray within 5 minutes, or before a match actually starts, your Xbox can just throw up an alert and give you the option to pause gameplay for everyone until you can get the disc or exit back to the dashboard.
TL;DR: 5 minute grace period during initial loading of game with disc based copyright protection. If 5 minutes expires, gameplay gets paused until you get the disc or you exit to the dashboard.
