Can my xbox play Dragon age?

My friend fecently gave me his xbox360 and I haven't used one much before this one. So I went out and got Dragon Age for my xbox. When I went to run it, it said I needed 7.8 gigs of installation data, but I only have 1.5 gigs of space left. I already formatted the system when I originally obtained it, and when I tried to use a USB, it said the data can only be put on the xbox system. Is it just not possible to play the game?
