Post Body

I just posted this over in the Tech thread over at r/xboxone but the responses seem pretty inactive so I doubt I'd get help so I thought maybe you fine redditors would have some insight.

I'm trying to recover my Microsoft Xbox account and like an idiot I forgot my password (I actually think I remembered it but now my account is locked and it won't let me try any more passwords). I go to log into microsoft and follow the prompts to reset my password until I reach the page where I am asked to enter my Xbox Live device ID. I then enter the correct console ID from my Xbox Settings section. (I swear I copy it character for character, I've tried multiple times. When I hit enter, I receive "please enter a valid Xbox Live device ID" message in error.

I've tried to talk to customer support but I cant schedule a call with Xbox support without my sign in info, but I cant get my sign in info without my password. I'm stuck in a perpetual loop and am pretty frustrated. I can't even get get through the Account Recovery Form because its asking for my Xbox Live device ID (and when I enter the one my Xbox gives me, it says the same message.)

Nothing has changed on my Xbox account since I first got this Xbox over 6 years ago. Why the change all of a sudden? What should I do? Please help me. Thanks!
