Hi all,
First time post.
My current setup is as follows. Main PC acts as a server of sort, with the drive shared via Samba, running Linux Mint KDE. My RPi is setup OpenElec, latest version.
On my PC Sabnzbdplus does the downloading, and Sick Beard manages what gets downloaded and where to move it too. I also have Mediaelch installed, just to help clean up some of my older movies and series.
Now, my question. Is it possible to have my PC setup up in such a way that it creates a library database, and my RPi can read it from there?
The reason why I would like to do that is that having the RPi update the library every time it starts up is super annoying, and essentially renders the RPi useless for a couple of minutes.
I'm aware that you can setup XBMC to access a remote library, but how would I go about creating said library automatically? I know I can install XBMC on my PC, but it only scans the drives when you start it, so not really automatic.
Is there any software out there that can do what I want, or is there some way of configuring XBMC so that it periodically scans.
Oh, I know about PLEX. Had it running for awhile, but I found it dog slow on the RPi.
