Going back to 3x? Or 2x?
Post Body

Hello all my fellow xbicers. I wanted to ask a relatively simple question as I have been debating this for a bit since I changed from a 200GS 3x to a deore 1x with a front 36.

I find myself not liking the range, I always feel like cadence is off, it's either to spinny or too hard and every jump feels too big. I have an 11-42 cassette I think. I didn't even mind the 3x I had before however I stripped it when changing it out and couldn't slap it back on.

I'm now considering changing to a 2x or back to a 3x. However what do you guys all think? Should I just change cassettes, front chainring, or something else? I often use my bike in town and to go bike camping. Kyoto city is usually pretty flat but the mountains range from 3 percent to 14 percent inclines so I still like a nice range especially when fully loaded.
