This First Division insignia shoulder patch was worn by LTC James L. Collins, who commanded a battalion of the 7th Field Artillery, in the First Division of the American Expeditionary Forces in World War I. Later, in 1969, it would orbit the moon. His son, Michael Collins, had brought it with him.
