Can I prove my grandmother crashed into the White House gate during the war?

My grandmother was in the Waves in WW2. She was based in DC later in the war after graduating from college. The date I have is her joining the military on Feb 7, 1944.

The story I would like to find proof of is she claimed to have been delivering messages to the White House and the car she was in or was driving, brakes went out and it crashed Into the White House gate.

Are there any records online that can be searched to corroborate this story? Given the location if anyone has good records this location would. Scans of log books that shows she was at the White House would be worth having if the exact event can’t be proven.
