Which dead end job should I take up?

While I keep writing about a woman who takes up a mundane job to help support her writing career? It's not based on real events, but I will take some inspiration from my own life.
Is that self-plagiarism? I'm sorry if this post doesn't make much sense. I'm all spent from writing 3.5 pages and drinking black coffee mixed with self-loathing.
