I’ll be honest, I’m not avid reader like I once was. The reason I say that is because one piece of advice I’ve learned is that if you want to start writing it doesn’t hurt to read other peoples works. To develop your own tongue. Similarly to how an artist looks at others works for inspiration.
I’ve always been discouraged to write because partly because of that. I’ve always been a daydreamer. Slipping into my imagination. You can blame my having been diagnosed with ADHD for that.
That all being said, I’ve just resorted in being content with my own imagination. My own personal thoughts. Im not daydreaming for anyone else. To write as a job rather than a hobby wouldn’t be as fun.
What makes one want to put things on paper? That’s been a question that’s stumped me to even start.
I’ve daydreamed so very much. I’ve thought about world building. Soft and hard magic systems. Different character tropes and what kind of story is like to tell.
On top of it all is that if I were to write how could I write so that I can best convey a thought, feeling or idea so that one is understood.
This is rather sudden for me to even bring up because for as long as I’ve been daydreaming it’s only now I feel some kind of desire to share a story that I’ve been only thinking about for two days.
