These are unrefined 30 minute writing bits I did based around one sentence. I took exactly 30 minutes with each one, and there was really no editing. Please let me know what you think!
The first piece, requested by dotlizard, with the sentence "I'm feeling lazy tonight"
Waking in a whimsical haze to find an odd flattery I noticed the ice cream dripping down the cone as the sunbeam briefly scattered its atoms about sending it down the cone in a new form. I knew this was a good thing to see, as far as melting ice cream goes. There was not a fully melted sludge in my hand, I wasnāt out too long. Thankfully Iām on my couch. Iām comfortable. Itās clear I was laying here before I went under. Nothing hurts, the headache from yesterday is even gone. Jesus, I never thought Iād have to be part of anything like that. It all happened so fast. His anger, the way he just lashed out showed such strength and the ferociousness of a child. Wielding a steel rod diaper shit has been thrown in my face once again.
āNerves send both pleasure and painā - repeating that has helped some. The random blackouts however, they still happen. I always think itās yesterday. Yesterday was terribly lazy as well, but today will be better.
I was wrong about the headache, they always return. Itās been years. Iām stuck in my own futures past, wondering why Iām glued to my couch eating up everything that is presented in a form that I can consume. I no longer want the ice cream, it must go. However odd these passings of late have been I find solace in knowing that when I fall asleep, whether I mean to or not I will continue to wake up. My eyes crusty, happily red from from a night best not spoken of - I always wake up. I canāt help but feel that others feel the same hurt and resilience. They have to. Itās whatās keeping many of us going - a fuel mutilated to burn hotter than anything imaginable only to force one to crackle. The knock on the head years ago may have changed my life for the better, it has taught me this.
Finding myself in a pool of spinach soup on a beautiful Friday night is surely one of the less desirable side effects of exiting. I can I look at my first date sitting across the table and do the one thing that I can do. I laugh. I laugh because however silly it may seem that I find myself caught in this moment with that person that one embarrassing time I was able to fall with gravities full force into soup and laugh. Iām thinking that is not something one should just laugh off, unless at the end of this - all this - none of those embarrassing moments will matter and my life is in fact our soup. This life, itās all of our soup. We canāt help but fall into it.
It was presented to me at the exact moment it had to be for me to fall due to pain caused in past moments of futility. Yet I fell, made a splash in my own soup of proverbial life and smiled laughing. I had just created a moment that neither he nor I will never forget, however embarrassed he was. Surely there are others that feel this way. The sun sets and reality starts to kick back in, what am I thinking exactly?
How silly of me to sit here and think of the complexities of the possibility that someone out there may just be like me. Silently laying the T.V. chatter rattles about and I wonder, are there others out there that despite great hate and an evil place in this world who are just happy to open their eyes? Do those people exist? It's one thing to be down on yourself I suppose. We all get like that sometimes. I just go down, pass out, unresponsive for moments. It's best to just lay around. You never know when you just might take a fall. Itās sad to live a life where you are forced to lay in bathtubs to save the fragility of your mind, prefer to travel via chair to save the complex intricacies of your face, and drastically fear escalators due to the love of my hair and teeth There I go again. Sitting here lost in my own thoughts. If there is one thing I hate is how loud that damn TV is, I would get up and turn it off but I'm lazy this evening.
