The marshall plan has been a generally good structure but I'm hung up on two things.
Not every novel is written with multiple viewpoints and it doesn't even mention this. If I'm writing with only one viewpoint should I have less scenes? For example the number of scenes I would create based on the length of my novel would be 72 scenes. It also recommends 4 viewpoints for that length which means a good chunk of those scenes would be written from q different vp. I've looked into multiple books in the adult fantasy romance genre and of those, all but one was written from a single vp. The one that had multiple vps still only had 2. So I feel my decision to write only one vp is the right one, I'm just not sure how to structure my scenes with only one vp. Do I continue with 72 scenes or cut them back a bit?im worried the full 72 will mean several are just filler or the book will be oversaturated. Anyone have any suggestions or resources?
The book also doesn't address that your novel may be part of a series. This is easier to work around but I find it irksome that a book about a creative process really doesn't address some of the most basic variations of writing.
So if anyone has suggestions on writing scenes or sections for a single vp, multiple book series I would really appreciate it!
