Writing stories in run same universe that aren’t “sequels.”
Post Body

So I like to make myself a big cool world for when I write and I work hard on it and I think the world opens up a lot of story possibilities so what I like to do is work on stories from the same universe that aren’t exactly related to each other. For instance, maybe a story about a character who plays a minor role in another story but is the main character of his own. Each story is fully capable of being read on their own while reading all of them just gives a bit more of overworld knowledge. “Oh so that’s what he was doing when he left. Oh so that’s why he’s scared of spiders.” Similar things that aren’t needed in the story but it provides some more insight. I can’t tell if this is stupid or a decent idea but let me know what you think.
