How much do historically accurate names matter
Post Body

Hi, I'm writing a story that takes place in a region based on Viking era peoples but I'm having trouble finding a name that sounds right for my female protagonist and I've looked up online for quite a while. I know historically accurate names are important but... how important are they really if your world, while based off the real one, is technically both geographically and somewhat culturally different? I know extremely modern names wouldn't make any sense and I'd clearly use names that have existed for several centuries but do you think that fitting but time period incorrect names can worth such as maybe Tris, Guenevere, or Helga?
