How far after a story's resolution/climax can the denouement take place?

Post Body
I have a denouement taking place a year or so after the resolution/climax and then an epilogue after that shows a character adopting a child and saying goodbye to old friends.
I'm worried that a denouement may only take place right after the climax which would make this an epilogue with a few scenes and a few 'time passes' kind of moment. Is this a big no no? I want to make sure I'm not breaking any well known methods here.
