Now I get the gist of these posts. You're a (Typically Young I'll Assume) writer who wants to make sure that their labor of love doesn't read like "A Journey Through Middle Earth" as written by Kim Kardashian. But for the love of all that is Blighted, PLEASE realize that as an author, youâre going to be writing about countless things one assumes youâve not done before. And unless youâre putting together a dissertation on the subject matter (And even if in some casesâŚ), itâs Okay to get some of the details wrong.
Beyond that the answer is universally, 100% of the time, going to be the same blasted answer no matter the subject matter in question. RESEARCH! Iâm not really sure what youâre looking for when you ask this question. If youâre of another species capable of brain to brain experience transfer, then Iâm sorry for excluding you in this summary, but for the rest of us, RESEARCH. If youâre interested in knowing what something is like⌠Look. It. Up.
Donât get me wrong. If you want to ask, â[Research] What are some good resources for stories by a Vulkan Pon Farr Counselorâ, by all means, Let us Google that for you. And who knows who has their own stories to tell, or what awesome hidden packets of knowledge someone may have to impart. But please stop asking how you can write something youâve never done.
Now seriously guys⌠how am I going to write this scene? The only experience I have with Dragons is that one time a Red Dragon was flying overhead and took a hot [Censored for Sanity].
EDITED TO ADD: Dragon's Dead Everybody! Thanks for all the Help! Turns out "Dragon" was that villages slang for Layabout... so the battle was much easier than anticipated. ;P If you're just now joining us, the word of the day is "Research".
