Currently starting on my very first attempt at writing and finishing a book. Probably not gonna publish it or anything, but I still want to try and finish.

The premise is simple: A princess is captured and saved by a man- who's history and background remain mysterious. They travel across the land in order to return home, and meet all kinds of people and face all kinds of dangers.

The theme is purpose for this story. How it binds some people, leaving themselves unable to cope and change with the wolrd. Or how sometimes the purpose we thought was ours no longer fit the shape we've grown into.

So do you have any advice on how you structure or plan out your plot? What do you do to ensure you're not losing goal when you're in the thick of it? And how do I avoid getting ro a point in the writing process of not knowing where to go with the story.
