Do authors or screenwriters really use the 'save the cat; structure?
Post Body

This is a book, with tips, and is own structure that I hear about often. Yet I'm curious, does anyone really use it? Anyone considerable? Does it lead to good stories? I'm a bit iffy on structures, I feel structures leads to an artificial feel to a story, and predictability. Who knows, maybe some really good books were made with it, and some famous authors use it.

What I refer to in the post, regarding structure in the sense you plan out every little part of the story,

"Save the Cat" is not plan out every little part of the story. It expands the basic 3 act structure into multiple sub-acts/'beats'.
