This isn’t as fun or mind blowing as my last writer’s block breakthrough, but I still found it helpful. This is especially tailored to people who did their best work writing in the back of a classroom/lecture hall knowing damn well they aren’t listening to a word that professor is saying.
If you’re ever trying to write/plot/outline your story or work in a peaceful setting, or trying to drown out any background noise but absolute silence doesn’t work, putting on the tv is too distracting, and listening to music makes it too hard to keep track of your thoughts. I ended up replaying recordings of lectures/ looking up lectures related to my major or anything I have any minor interest in and playing it in the background. Somehow my brain is so wired to not pay attention to these things I find myself having a much easier time getting immersed in my story
