I've finished the first draft of a fantasy novel and I'm at a bit of an impasse concerning dialogue while I edit/re-write.
It's a pulpy, old school sword&sorcery book (Conan, Kane, Kull) but I'm debating on flavoring it with modern dialogue. I know a lot of "urban fantasy" books choose modern dialogue, but this would be intentionally anachronistic as a style choice. The setting has no modern trappings, but it is a bit weird.
Has anyone else tried this, or have any suggestions of fantasy books that have done this effectively?
