How important is social media to you as a writer?
I've been a heavy social media user since the MySpace days. But now that I'm older and have a teenage child on some social media, my views on it are changing. My partner is completely off of all social media and the conversation of me getting off of it as well has come up often. He's not pushing it but he points out things he notices with my daughter and I that gave a direct correlation to our social media use and it's kind of opened my eyes to how it really kind of permeates into everything in your life, if you let it.
Sorry if I'm rambling but my question is, how important, or necessary, is social media to you if you have or are actively trying yo have a writing career? Is it a necessary evil in the world today or can you still be successful without actively taking part in it?
