So I don’t want my book to be like every other fantasy novel of modern times. I don’t want MC to have a love interest, or at least if there is one not make that the central driving force of the story. I have a deuteragonist who kind of fills the place of a potential love interest to satiate the masses who will undoubtedly want a live interest. They aren’t together and won’t get together but I want it to seem like they may, and then I’m killing her towards the end as a final driving point to set up the main plot point only the sequel. I’m worried tho that may kill the book to? Has anyone else ever killed a love interest?
