My friend and I are looking for a new guild. We have both done progression raiding in the past and enjoyed it, but are now much more limited on time due to family and work. We would still like to raid, but can only really dedicate one night per week to it.
I can bring either a resto shammy or afflic lock, and my friend can bring either a holy pally or frost DK; all on Alexstrasza. ilvls are in the 860-865 range, give or take a few, but we pull very good numbers for our ilvls. I have some limited experience in Nighthold; my friend has pretty extensive experience. We would prefer to either heal together (preferred) or dps together if possible. We do not want to server transfer unless absolutely necessary.
What we're looking for in a guild: - Pleasant and supportive atmosphere that includes patience and kindness to both guildies and pugs.
Preferably family-friendly chat. I left behind most sexual innuendo and public profanity 20 years ago.
A friendly group-centered approach to runs. In other words, wipes should be used to inform new strategies and help us all learn, and never result in anger and blaming/shaming group mates.
Progression-minded, casual schedule, raiding. Yeah, that may be a little confusing; please let me explain:
-- A group that encourages independent research, provides boss strats before each fight, and a hands-on raid leader that actively assigns positioning and responsibilities and adjusts strategies as we go.
-- Voice chat as a requirement. In almost ten years of WoW I've never seen a group raid effectively without it.
-- Given time constraints not everyone can acquire BiS gems and enchants, but we would like a group that requires effort on the part of raiders. Almost everyone can afford basic gems and enchants, and I would expect the guild to help those in need with flask and food costs. At raid everyone should be gemmed, enchanted, flasked, and well fed.
-- We would like a group that wants to make progress and takes steps in that direction. In other words, not bringing a different alt every week, having reasonable attendance, enjoying progress as a group, helping guildies gear up, etc.
-- In short, the trappings of progression raiding but with toned down time commitment and a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
