Is there any profit in crafted mounts?

I've never really cared about making gold until recently and I thought that I could create the jewelcrafting panther mounts. I got the recipe and looked at the mats but I can only make about 2k from them. I can buy the mats for ~22k but on the AH, they sell for ~24k. Is this just my realm, the panther mounts or are crafted mounts not very good for making profit.
