Hello!
I've been trying to get myself motivated to take on a personal project to learn Node and Angular, and I've been mulling over a web site to provide some community tools. I'm not interested (nor do I have the knowledge or resources) in competing with TUJ/WoWuction/TSM, rather I'd like to complement what we have available to us and fill in any gaps in the current tools.
Initially I was thinking of putting together a simple aggregator which takes current (hourly) AH data from the blizzard API and cross-references TSM, TUJ and WoWuction data. I quickly realized that there is a lack of public APIs or strict throttling limits in pulling data from these sites, so that isn't really possible. I still want to provide links to the other sites for easy cross-referencing. I'll have to come up with my own price algorithm, or re-implement DBMarket, for example.
Anyway, here are some of my thoughts for features:
- TSM Settings Sharing: listing of groups, shopping strings, etc. Basically anything TSM can export to a string, have an area where it can be imported to the site, and then shared with others. Maybe also include some description fields, voting, comments, etc. Allow 'forking' of someone else's groups so you can customize it as your own.
- For TSM groups, provide a management interface similar to what is in-game - allow items to be added/removed and update the underlying string, or allow sub-group creation and moving items between groups easily, then re-import the string in-game.
- TSM Accounting file upload. Analyze TSM accounting data - charts, graphs, top selling items and so on. Overlay personal accounting data on item summary pages (avg sell, last sold, quantity, etc.)
Do you have any ideas? I can't promise this will come to fruition any time soon, but I've got an itch to build something, and if there are any utilities you think the WoW gold making community could benefit from, I'd love to hear about it and maybe even build it!
