Warglaives of Azzinoth Question

So I ran Black Temple with a friend to get him the glaives. Offhand dropped last week so i traded it to him. Main hand dropped this week so i traded it to him. He didnt receive the achievement. Is this a bug? or is he the one that supposed to loot the glaives in order to get the achieve so he can do Timewalking BT in order to get the transmog. I can't find any info on this anywhere so Im asking good ole reddit.
