I didn't even buy this expansion, I just couldn't take the burning of Teldrasil. I dont know if this is considered a quitting wow, since I have already but I've played this game for about 13 years.
What I hated the most was the "morally grey" bullshit. I hate that the night elfs keep getting shat on, but I figured there was more to the story than just sylvanas. That was too simple, and it was too obvious. They said it themselves that there would be some ambiguity to why it gets burned down.
I mean, if Jaina had been the instigator to that event, that would have been "morally grey" and unexpected, but as it played out...that was pure shit. That is some fucking cliche guy in a trenchcoat twirling his mustache tying a damsel to the train tracks bullshit.
Now this other shit that they're doing with Tyrande... She goes goku and can barely hold her own against nathanos? Shes fucking millennias old amazonian queen who has fought off the legion how many times now, who has now been empowered by the only actual god in this world (Elune) and she can still only barely hold her own??!
I always would laugh when people would talk about how this is the end for wow, or such and such game is going to kill wow, but they actually did it for me. The thing is, I would have been okay with the burning of Teldrasil if it was worthwhile, if it made for a dynamic story, if there was some complexity or depth to what was unfolding and it all just ended up feeling so simple and empty.
