Hey guys,

TLDR; Leveling too fast to do everything (and we don't want to do everything in a zone right now - but we don't want to miss the big moments in the Lore of each expansion), please suggest your favorite quest chains/stories that are "Must do" in your mind. Things like the opening of the Wrath Gate. We are doing all dungeons and raids so will get those story bits, looking for primarily notable quest chains that identify a zone.

I recently got some of my RL friends to start playing. Some of them haven't played since Vanilla, and one has never played, but is familiar with the lore as he played WC2, 3, etc.

Like others who have posted on here, it's been quite a blast going through all of the old stories with friends and re-exploring Azeroth, Outland, etc.

However, because leveling is so fast now, we quickly out level the zones and expansions before we have finished the great content and story. I've been pretty good about picking and choosing the right main story questlines up to WOTLK, but moving forward into Cataclysm and MoP - these are expansions I have little experience with and am unsure of the "best" quest chains to follow in the better zones to really capture the story of the expansion and give my friends a true glimpse into the best of WoW over the years.

3/4 are in WOTLK, at 81 now. Anything in Icecrown and into MoP and onward would be great.

edit We aren't concerned with "Pausing" the XP - there are still players that are lower level and we are helping through and frankly don't want to deal with going back, turning off xp, turning it on again, etc. The xp gain is so small with the lower level quests etc. that it might as well be off. We don't care about being too high level for the content, we simply want to see the core storylines.

There are already alts in the works to satisfy the "completionist" in all of us that we will go back and hit up different zones later - we want to cherry pick the best storylines.
