I just got the Warlords of Draenor starting quest, but I don't own the expansion?

I'm doing MoP content and I hit 90 the other day in a dungeon. My game crashed for some reason when I left the instance, and I decided that I'd played enough anyway. Well I logged in today and got the quest to talk to Thrall in Blasted Lands. Is this normal?
