I'll be honest I've been somewhat of a "classic Andy" for awhile now
Ever since Legion, I really couldn't get back into the Modern Game, only playing through the first raid of BFA Shadowlands and not Dragonflight at all.
And I just want to say, aside from kinda agreeing with the early access criticism. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself and as much as there is a lot of dooming going on, i really think the game is an amazing place so far with the War Within.
Aside from minor criticisms with the story and some of the systems bloat (why so many currencies!?) I haven't had this much fun with WoW since Classic 2019.
The art, the design of the gameplay flow, rhe music, the class design, the dungeons (I absolutely am in love with the Kobold dungeon lol), the world content and especially skyriding have just been an absolute blast for me and we haven't even gotten the "real" content yet.
Walking into Hallowfall was the first time I had a "Goddamn" moment in this game since the first time I logged in as a wee lad in 2005, and I'm absolutely hooked on the gameplay loop as well. And honestly with skyriding, I haven't been this motivated to explore the outside world zones in a long, long time and there is just so much to see on top of that!
Crafting is complex and engaging, gear progression is smooth, with quality of life that makes it less frustrating but no less rewarding, quests have fresh ideas and actually often fun mini games associated to them. Just loving the expansion throughly so far and never thought I'd be able to be pulled back into retail. But here we are.
I just hope people can see past the corpo bullshit the marketing side of blizzard is pulling. And appreciate the obviously hard work the Dev team has put in into really fine tuning the game to it's modern state (I know a lot is carry over from Dragonflight but still, I just couldn't get into the dragonflight story, and while I still question some choices in the TWW I am still excited to find out what happens next, plus I'm an Spriest and want Xalatah to step on me... I mean wait what was I talking about)
TL;DR thought I'd be stuck in classic forever but TWW is definitely worth giving a try for all my fence sitters, and I'm just really happy to feel my love for a game that means so much to me reinvogorated.
End rant lol
