For some background, I am a relatively casual WOTV player. As of today, my Chocolate Flan is still only L40.
However, there is already a big problem I can see - nobody is interested to join my room if I hosted. I can see a number of issues that causes this:
- The boss' only weaknesses are Ice, Wind, Magic and Missile. This kind of funnels every team into basically Mediena-only or Lucia-only.
- One slot for Steal Time units, but this assumes the host knows what units even exists for this raid besides Mediena or Lucia.
- I've seen some slash chain comps going around but as with the previous Ice Magic/Wind Missile chain teams, it requires people are coordinated on using the same team. If I didn't list saying I wanted a specific strat, you're just going to end up with a mishmash of units that don't synergize and thus won't deal enough damage to kill within 1 try.
- Some people are not patient enough. I put up a room with a description saying Mediena-only chain team, and that I'd start if I had 3 or more players, but oftentimes after another person joins, that person leaves before the 3rd person comes in. It ends up with me playing a long waiting game, until I luck out into 2 people joining back to back.
I don't know if this is the intended raid experience. I'm starting to think that my Flan being L40 is already too low, and that nobody who is actually farming raid is interested to do it. It's oftentimes much easier to just join other people's rooms than to host your own. I don't even want to think of what it's like for people with none of the above (Lucia, Mediena or even a Steal Time unit. I know Mia exists but your average pub is likely going to see she is an R unit and kick the player).
I also don't know if it's good design in a mobile game to have people rely on a communications channel like Discord to look for people to help with raid bosses. In most other games (mobile at least), it's usually easier to pub such multiplayer content, and games often try to make it easy to do so.
Cabbage had a video saying that this raid's design was really bad in terms of the units one should be using, and that it would improve in the future raids, but oh man, I don't even know that will change very much from what I am seeing right now.
What are your thoughts on the raid system as a whole?
