How do ammo stashes work?

Iām talking about the ones naturally in game, not the fixer class. It seems some guns use up way more than others, and Iām also curious if ammo stashes are shared between players.

Don't forget to use both primary AND secondary guns until they're pretty much depleted (if safe to do so of course). Definitely makes your ammo stash last longer.
