He is only ranked so high because his side effect works so well in border rank matches where he only faces the same opponents, in an actual away mission his abilities are almost useless. That all.
Edit: bail-outs on away missions only work In close proximity to the away ship and his only feats against opponents where he does not have through b4 hand knowledge are mostly defensive (his ray gust has plot armor) he’ll probably be about as strong as a normal b rank attacker
