Excerpts from PM Daler Mehndi's "Heart of Darkness" speech, publicized across the USA in all commonly spoken languages.
South Asians, countrymen, countrywomen, as has been seen over the course of decades of aggression, abuse, and outright genocide towards us Indian and Bangladeshi peoples, Pakistan is a rogue state, with the explicit and ultimate goal of our destruction. Wherever it goes, it leaves a path of mass graves, rape, and displacement, a trend seen since our independence in 1948 and bloodily confirmed in 1971...
Unfortunately, this trend has only gotten worse. While the Pakistani government continues to deny the slaughter of millions by its armed goons, it has since united with Taliban forces in Afghanistan to form a far-right government based in an especially violent interpretation of Sharia law. This is an armed terrorist group which has committed systemic massacres of its own people, abducted and sold women into sex slavery, stripped all women of virtually all human rights, and committed cultural genocide on the Afghani peoples through the destruction of their noble heritage. In short, Mughalistan has become a heart of darkness, a cancer in the noble lands of South Asia...
However, much like the Congo was in the original novel, this current situation is also a result of foreign, imperialist powers. The former United States fell for many reasons, but one underappreciated reason was the false moral superiority it operated in internationally while engaging in cut-throat realpolitik that only served the needs of itself, creating a house divided itself that could not stand. This was best exemplified when the United State government refused to condemn the Bangladesh genocide at the time, out of a false conception that Pakistan was an important ally that could not fall to our great military. Instead, the United States attempted to pit us against other Asian nations, including China. The first and only real border war, in 1962, between China and India was precipitated by CIA attempts to train Tibetan rebels in Indian territory to use against China, CIA threats of spying on Chinese nuclear sites through Indian airfields, and Nehru's very dumb Forward Policy. It's no coincidence that the latest border clashes in 2020 also featured the meddling of US intelligence fueling the clashes. The petty politics of both Nehru domestically, and the United States internationally, have led to a system of violence between us and our Sino neighbors for the sake of a couple mountains on our border...
Of course, the Indian martyrs in each border confrontation didn't die for nothing. They died so that our dear Bharata could live to fight another day, despite the greatest efforts of foreign actors to use us for violence. To continue our suicidal attitude towards the Chinese border when the factors that have led to that attitude are gone would be the greatest insult to the fallen...
Countrymen, we, the Union of South Asia, are one nation, dedicated to democratic principles and freedoms for all people in South Asia. Our destiny lies in South Asia and the liberation of all South Asians. Let us not be distracted by the residue of our imperialized and imperialist past. Let us not be bound by what Kissinger decided for us in a White House backroom or what Nehru thought would bring the Congress party re-election. We must march forward as one, with all those willing to help us, to defeat those that have truly wronged us, and to protect the woman, the child, the grandfather that would otherwise grow up in a heart of darkness.
[m] default roll is for public opinion change I'm too lazy to do it per country. also ik that some of this stuff is somewhat exaggeratory and revisionist, which is on purpose in-game
