Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry
2023
We wish to sign a contract with the Russians to upgrade our airforce's inventory to the latest Flanker standard. However, we wish to conduct the modernization at our own aerospace centers run by Kazakhstan Engineering with the assistance of Russian technicians and with Russian parts. We wish to expand our technical expertise with the latest generation of Flanker technology. Specifically the Su-35 variant. We currently possess 60 SU-30s and 24 SU-27s. So a total of 84 Flanker airframes to be rebuilt into the SU-35 standard. Would this be possible?
