A grassroots campaign for peace, non-intervenionism, anti-militarism and defence spending cuts has erupted in Germany. Across social media platforms, young people been sharing this symbol, to represent the Imperialistic militarist foreign policy they oppose. Many petitions have been sent to politicians calling for a cut to defence spending and an end to Germany's involvement in foreign conflicts. The symbol seems to represent an opposition to the sort of hegemonic jingoism the youth feels may be rearing its ugly head. Some of the older generations even say they wish to never see Prussian Militarism rise again in Germany and feel its recent military projects and operations are the beginning of that trend. There has been solidarity with the Polish People sharing the campaign as well due to their own strong convictions on peace and German pacifism.
