Given our recent dialogue and other hints that Cascadia may be considering Arctic Union or ATO membership, we wanted to take some steps to encourage this movement. We understand that committing to full economic union or full mutual defense can be difficult, so we instead wanted to propose simple open borders.
Assuming there is Cascadian interest in this proposal, we would consult with Norway (the other current AU member following Iceland’s accession to the NU) on the matter but do not foresee difficulty given recent stability.
We think that full open borders could help foster further connection between us while laying down the foundations for future economic connections should they be desired.
