Good evening!
We noticed that you recently met with Russia for bilateral talks, which actually creates an opportunity for us to discuss something with you that we've been meaning to ask about for a while now.
What are your plans regarding Russia?
Currently, we have remained distant towards them. This stems mostly from sanctions we had on them after they forcibly annexed Kazakhstan. We are aware that the regime has changed and the relationship between the West and Russia have been thawing rather quickly over the past couple of years. They notably voted in favour of alloting a permanent UNSC seat to the European Federation, who spearheaded sanctions against them in the past, after all.
However, despite this thaw, we are still hesitant, especially as our interests in the Arctic will likely bring us at odds with one another once again. Russia in the past has been rather bold with its claims to sovereignty in the Arctic, and a united stand by the nations of the Arctic Union may be the best way to mitigate that.
We are not necessarily anti-Russia, but we do see them as a potential rival and our interests are likely to clash.
We are curious about what Greenland thinks of Russia.
