The Northern Union cordially invites the members of the Arctic Treaty Organization to lovely Halifax, Nova Scotia for a meeting of the Arctic Treaty Organization.
We have a few items on the agenda that we would like to speak to Iceland and Norway about:
The inclusion of a recently independent Greenland into the ATO. We think a formal invitation ought to be offered.
The future of the ATO in light of the potential Arctic Union proposed by the Norwegians at the last meeting. We are of the opinion that the two should remain separate, especially if we are interested in Greenlandic participation in the ATO, which is much less committing than an AU would be.
The other proposals brought up by the Norwegians last year. These all have our support and would officially create the Arctic Union
Anything else that needs discussing at the moment, including next steps.
