The Arctic States of the Northern Union, Norway, and Iceland provided for the adoption of a mutual defense treaty during extensive negotiations some two years ago. Today is the day that (hopefully) such an agreement is actually signed.
The Arctic Treaty Organization, in a role similar to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is meant to affirm NU, Iceland, and Norwegian commitment to the mutual security. We all share a common border in the Arctic and with it a common destiny in the protection of our northern birthright.
Terms
A commitment to the mutual defense, mutual aid and mutual support of each others national aims and interests
A binding mutual defense agreement between Iceland, Norway, and the Northern Union
The establishment of an Arctic Cooperation Council in Charlottetown, PEI for further cooperation between each other on civilian goals
The establishment of a common military command headquartered out of a mountain bunker in Labrador. The exact location shall not be publicly named
The establishment of three more localized military theater commands in Reitan )NATC], Keflavik [IATC] and Ottawa [UATC].
This is not meant to replace NATO or anything like it, but rather to affirm an agreement to protect and maintain our collective Arctic sovereignty, well-being, success, and prosperity.
Further terms can and will be added as necessary, and we welcome Iceland and Norway to introduce any additional terms they would like to see added now.
